Jal Shakti Minister Targets SP During Jalaun Visit, Defends BJP’s Governance Record
Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, during a visit to Urai in Jalaun for a community library inauguration, criticized the Samajwadi Party and Akhilesh Yadav, alleging pre-2017 lawlessness and highlighting BJP-led welfare initiatives and governance achievements.
Addressing the gathering, Singh positioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a party rooted in public welfare, particularly for the poor, while accusing the Samajwadi Party of indulging in what he described as irresponsible rhetoric. In a pointed remark, he said that a party regarded by people as a “mother” could never fall into decline, an assertion aimed at underscoring BJP’s popular support and ideological strength.
The minister further alleged that prior to 2017, when the BJP came to power in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party government was marked by lawlessness. He claimed the period was dominated by criminal activities and corruption, contrasting it with what he described as the BJP’s focus on development, governance reforms, and public welfare initiatives since assuming office.
During his address, Singh highlighted several achievements of the BJP-led state government, emphasizing programs designed to uplift economically weaker sections and improve public infrastructure. He reiterated that the current administration remains committed to inclusive development and transparent governance.
The remarks, delivered at a public event with administrative significance, reflect the intensifying political narrative in the state as leaders continue to defend their governance record while targeting opposition parties. Singh’s statements underscore the BJP’s effort to project stability and welfare-driven governance while challenging the legacy of its political rivals in Uttar Pradesh.
